Kirkland Local {Common Folk Co.}

A sense of comfort &  a sense of home (or at least what I wish my home felt like) strikes you as soon as you walk into Common Folk Co. A downtown Kirkland, locally owned shop that won’t disappoint this holiday season! With so many different options, you would think it could be a little overwhelming. But with these helpful sales people, your experience is fun & will most likely lead you to unique treasures & gifts for that special person on your list.

Kathryn Straub established Common Folk Co. in 1989 opening a store in its former Bellevue Crossroads location. Lucky for Kirkland (and all of us shoppers), she has recently relocated her shop to Kirkland Parkplace (behind the Grape Choice). This only seems fitting since she is a Kirkland resident:-)She has done a wonderful job of creating a one of a kind store with one of a kind items.  And let’s be honest… aren’t we always looking for that “certain something” gift? For the person that has everything (at least everything you would purchase on Amazon)? We always hear that it’s the thought that counts, but wouldn’t it be nice to actually follow through & find that perfect gift (instead of just wishing you had)?  I had a chance to chat with Kathryn about Common Folk Co., spend some time browsing the store & find out what some of the “hot” items are this winter. Check out all of the cool things I found! And keep in mind that I’m a “people” photographer, not a “product” photographer:-)

The beautiful Kathryn (you will most likely see her smiling face when you stop by) along with a few of her fabulous displays. Note: the sheet music angel & santa displays are handmade locally!

 She features over 15 local artists throughout the store. Fussbucket, Orange Box, Karen Grace & Juliana Marquise are just a few local jewelry artists.

Something for the body & soul. Common Folk’s signature citrus scent, French soaps & Shea Butter. Everyone needs to pamper themselves (and skin) a little with these colder winter temperatures. Great stocking stuffers as well 😉

 Beautiful, soft & warm cashmere scarves….what? only $39.99? Yes please:-)

How fun are these? A must have for any animal lover! (and I’ve heard you can special order them:-)Another local artist!Hot gifts for the season… Sergio bracelets & some very affordable cuff watches (only $19.99!)

 And last, but not least….

Be sure to visit Common Folk Co. soon. You will be happy you did:-)Check them out on Facebook to keep up with what’s new:-)
